I developed Digital Publishing (EH 455/555) to help students understand how newer, digital communication platforms are changing how professional and technical communicators work. The course offered students the opportunity to produce their own digital artifacts including websites, online videos, and blogs. The final course project also asked the students to build an online professional portfolio.I designed Developing Digital Documents (EH 340) to help students strengthen their critical thinking skills as they relate to planning, writing, and revising content for large, dynamic documents. Specifically, students learned the rules of document design and how to break those rules; how to integrate content into large scale documents; and developed strategies necessary to anticipate the needs of their audience.
